Our Research Services
We specialise in tracing your ancestors who came from our glorious county of Gloucestershire. We aim to uncover the hidden facts and events which will bring your family history to life. We hope to demolish your brick walls.
We are happy to undertake research in any or all of the Gloucestershire repositories. No task is too small or too large; we can do a single look-up, a search for a particular event, a full family history or anything in between.
Our current charges are 18 UKP or 24 USD per research hour plus any costs such as travel, postage, copying or certificate purchase, etc.. We have a Paypal account to allow payment by credit card if required – there is a small surcharge to cover this type of payment. UK or US cheques are also accepted.
We do not have standard rates for specific tasks as a search can last a few minutes, take many hours or we may never find what you are seeking so we tend to work in research sessions of one, two, or more hours at a time. In such cases, we are happy to be paid after we have done a task as long as a fixed limit is agreed by both parties beforehand. However, for sessions of 5 hours or more, we require a deposit.

Other Research Services
Your request does not have to be Gloucestershire based or even a genealogical query. In the past, we have done house history, local history and even statistical research for a medical historian, carried out using the records at Gloucestershire Archives. We are very flexible, so please contact us at Hidden Heritage to discuss your own requirements.
Photographic Services
Would you like to see where your ancestors lived and worked, the church in which they were baptised or married, the place where they are buried? We can take a single photograph or several for you; the choice is yours. We can also take photographs of documents when photocopying is not an option; this way you can see what the original record was like. These digital images can be emailed to you, uploaded to Dropbox, saved onto CD or printed and posted. Charges are the same as for genealogical research but the travel element is likely to be greater.
